While Google says it "will never sell any personal information to third parties and will allow its users to decide how their information is used," I take this statement with a grain of salt. Although big tech companies like Google do give users the ability to opt out of data collection through "the right to be forgotten" (under new GDPR laws), they still make it very difficult for people to do so. It's also hard to know where the line is drawn in terms of letting users "decide how their information is used" --this is true only to an extent. All said, I'm happy you wrote about this topic because I feel that there is still a lot to be done to fix the gray area around privacy, which is a topic that needs to be better understood by the masses. I wonder how many people *actually* know how much information these companies have about us and what can be done if it were to ever get in the wrong hands...
